HeatTreatPro ("the site," "we," "us") is a directory of commercial heat treating services in the United States, operated by EbyKnives. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. We keep things simple: this is a directory, not a service that requires accounts or payments, and we collect as little data as possible.
Information you provide. If you submit a shop listing or contact us, we may receive your name, email address, and details about the shop you're submitting. We use this only to review the submission and respond to you.
Information collected automatically. Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) logs basic technical data when pages are requested — such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps. We use this only for security, debugging, and understanding aggregate traffic patterns.
Cookies and tracking. As of the effective date above, this site does not use advertising cookies, analytics scripts, or any other tracking technologies beyond the hosting logs described above. If we add any of these in the future, this policy will be updated before they take effect.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes. The only parties that ever see your data are:
Listings link to the websites of independent heat treating companies. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for their content or how they handle your data. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any external site you visit.
Submission information is kept while a listing is active in the directory, plus a reasonable period afterward for administrative purposes. Hosting logs are retained by our provider under its standard retention schedule. You may request deletion of your submission information at any time (see "Your rights" below).
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal information you've provided to us. To make a request, email us at heattreatdirect@gmail.com and include enough detail to locate your submission. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request its deletion, and opt out of its sale. We collect minimal information and do not sell personal information. Requests can be made using the contact information above.
This site is a business-to-business directory and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If we update this policy, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes — such as the introduction of cookies or advertising — will be announced here before taking effect.
